* Kathy’s Jewelry Story

Last Saturday’s Gilbert Art Walk had a touching moment. Client Kathy came to pick up the custom piece she had ordered and my dad assembled. She was so overcome with emotion upon recieveing it she hugged my dad and then me. He didn’t see it coming and seemed genuinely suprised by it.

Pretty soon Kathy is about to hold her new grandchild for the first time and she wanted to have her mom Pat & Grandma Rose with her when she did. She had two gold charm bracelets as well as random charms with great significance in her life that she wanted added on to it.Dad combined all three on a chain of her picking. She occasionally wears her moms sweater and she decided to add a red button from it to the bracelet as well. The pearl up front came from a bracelet her brother gave her 40 years ago.

The heart charm formerly held the diamond that was always worn on her fathers tie tack. She has since given the diamond to her current husband. Also dangling are her grandfathers fireman pin, praying hands to signify her mothers beliefs, 2 cameos that were formerly earrings given by her mother, #1 wife,mom & I love you charms. Pat’s sacred heart charm & three engraved face charms are for Kathy & her two brothers Kevin & Jimmy.The red button was off Pat’s sweater and the pearl came off a bracelet her brother gave her 40 years ago.The two mini cameos were earrings Dad converted to charms.
